Something that I have felt strongly about upon the age of 16 when I started looking for jobs was tattoos and piercings in the work place. In small town Osceola, or even smaller towns, people are rude and haven't quite opened up their minds enough to know that these are a form of self expression. I don't have any tattoos yet, but I do have piercings and stretched ears, so this is an important topic for me, as I have experienced the disapproval of employers while searching for jobs.
I only needed acrylic paint and a canvas for this piece. I took the time and tried to make her face as perfect as possible. I've never shaded before or painted skin tones before, but I think I did pretty well on this piece using the highlights and what not. I just did what I do with my own make up on myself. I painted on tattoos and piercings last. When I look at this piece I see no difference. I want people to see that there is no difference underneath the aesthetics, that they work just as hard and they are one in the same. |
